Dave Swisher assumed his responsibilities as Deputy Director of the Brookings County Emergency Management office in June of 2005 following a twenty five and one half year career in law enforcement. His law enforcement experience consisted of thirteen years with the Mitchell SD police department and the balance with the police department in Brookings. Dave served as an investigator and a supervisor during the span of his career and he instructed much of the on going training at each department.

In addition to the duties of being the Deputy Director, Dave coordinates the Citizen Corps programs associated with the Brookings County Emergency Management office and is the program manager for the CERT organization.
